Having always had far more hobbies and interests than I know what to do with (particularly in relation to all things creative), I took up sewing, and mainly embroidery, more seriously a few years ago.
I took a basic tailoring course that taught me very little and went on to do it my own way, daring myself to attempt bigger and tougher projects as I gained experience and learnt the trade. I started The Secret Rose blog documenting my projects a little later. The Secret Rose features ornate designs, delicate stitching and a vintage leaning. Quality is also important – giving my customer the best possible item I can provide underlies everything I make.
My main drug of choice is embroidery. Other tools of the trade include fabric, ribbon, thread, buttons, pearls, braid and upcycled vintage items as well as absolutely anything I deem fit (which excludes little!)
